New Delhi: India taking on Australia in the second semifinal of the Women's ODI World Cup at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai on Thursday, October 30. The winner of this match will face South Africa in the final at the same venue on Sunday, November 2.

Players from both sides wore black armbands during the match as a tribute to teen Australian cricketer Ben Austin, who died after being hit by a ball during training. The 17-year-old cricketer was hit in the neck while batting at the Ferntree Gully Cricket Club in suburban Melbourne on Tuesday.

Austin was wearing a helmet that had no neck guard while training for his club, and was hit by the ball, which was thrown by a sidearm. He was batting in the nets against the pacers ahead of a T20 match when he suffered the fatal blow in front of his teammates.

After the incident, the 17-year-old was put on the ventilator, but he succumbed to his injury, which revived the memories of Australian cricketer Phil Hughes' tragic death in 2014. Ferntree Gully confirmed Austin's death on Thursday.

Australian captain Alyssa Healy won the toss and opted to bat first in the semifinal clash at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The Aussies made one change to their playing XI with Sophie Molineux replacing Georgia Wareham, while the Women in Blue made three changes to their playing XI.

Kranti Gaud, Richa Ghosh, and Shafali Verma replace Harleen Deol, Uma, and Pratika Rawal. The hosts got off to a great start in the knockout game as Kranti Gaud removed Alyssa Healy for just five runs with a nip-backer.
