Michelle Agyemang and Chloe Kelly scored as England pulled off a remarkable late comeback to beat Italy 2-1 in the semi-final and book their spot in the final of the Women's Euro 2025. Young striker Agyemang found the back of the net in the 96th minute to help England equalise and force the tie into extra time, before Kelly's goal in the 119th minute sealed a dramatic win for the defending champions.

Sarina Wiegman's England looked on their way out of the tournament after Barbara Boriansea's 33rd-minute goal gave Italy the lead in the first half, and the Le Azzurre managed to retain their lead beyond ninety minutes of regulation time at the Stade de Geneve in Lancy, Switzerland. However, the defending champions staged a miraculous comeback to win the semi-final.

19-year-old Agyemang and Kelly both came on as substitutes and scored a goal apiece to help England salvage the tie. Agyemang, who replaced defender Leah Williamson in the 85th minute, didn't need a lot of time to make an impact in the game as she found the back of the net with a composed finish in the 96th minute to help England level the score at 1-1 and take the semi-final into extra time.

Kelly, who replaced midfielder Georgia Stanway in the 77th minute, got on the scoresheet with only a minute left in extra time to clinch a thrilling 2-1 victory for England. The striker missed her penalty, but ended up scoring on the rebound to send England into the final after a dramatic end to the semi-final clash.

Agyemang scored his second goal in the tournament as she continued her dream run as a super sub. The 19-year-old earlier came off the bench to score the equaliser for England in their win over Sweden on penalties in the quarter-final. England have now reached their third straight major final and will be aiming to lift their second successive Euro title in the summit clash.

England manager Wiegman was elated as she compared her side's stunning comeback win to a movie after the semi-final. "We're going to make a movie some day! Well, this is a movie, my goodness, it's unbelievable," Wiegman told BBC. Wiegman will be now targeting a third straight Euro title as a manager, having won the last two editions of the tournament, with Netherlands and England, respectively.

England have enjoyed a topsy-turvy run to the final in Women's Euro 2025. They suffered a crushing 2-1 defeat against France in their opener, before bouncing back to beat Netherlands 4-0. The defending champions thrashed Wales 6-1 in their next group-stage encounter to qualify for the knockout stage.

In the quarter-final, England played out a 2-2 draw with Sweden, but prevailed 3-2 on penalties to book a spot in the semi-final. They managed to beat Italy 2-1 in dramatic fashion, with a goal in the 119th minute and will now face the winner of the second semi-final between Spain and Germany.
