At the time of writing this article, Messi was at the Mumbai airport waiting to get the go-ahead for his flight to Delhi. He is expected to leave shortly for the final set of engagements, which includes a special appearance at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium for a ticketed event.

The FIFA World Cup winner mesmerised the fans at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai last evening. He was captured posing alongside Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar and a host of Bollywood stars and politicians. Indian football legend Sunil Chhetri was also present at the event.

Sachin, who also wore the No.10 jersey during his international career, presented his iconic India shirt to Messi. The modern-day football legend also created a memorable moment for Indian sports fans by exchanging jerseys with Chhetri.

Before Mumbai, Messi regaled fans in Hyderabad and Kolkata.

The opening leg of the GOAT tour in Kolkata was marred by disorderly scenes at the Salt Lake Stadium, as frustrated fans complained about mismanagement after failing to catch a glimpse of their favourite footballer. Disappointed fans ripped apart seats and threw chairs in the stadium as the chaos led to the early exit of Messi.

In comparison, the event was well organised in Hyderabad and Mumbai. The final leg in Delhi will see Messi meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and he is also likely to meet with cricket icon Virat Kohli.
