Virat Kohli's nephew Aaryaveer Kohli has registered for the upcoming Delhi Premier League (DPL) auction and has been shortlisted in the initial draft of players for the auction. 15-year-old Aaryaveer is the son of Kohli's elder brother Vikas Kohli. He is a budding leg-spinner and trains under Kohli's former coach Raj Kumar Sharma in Delhi.

Aaryaveer practices at the West Delhi Cricket Academy, which is run by Sharma. He was a registered player for the Delhi U-16 last season, but is yet to make a name for himself with his performances. It remains to be seen if the 15-year-old will be picked up by any team in the DPL auction and follow the footsteps of his uncle, who is regarded as one of the best batters of all time.

Aaryaveer Kohli is not the only family member of an Indian cricket legend to have been shortlisted for the DPL auction. Former India opener Virender Sehwag's son Aaryavir Sehwag and Vedant Sehwag have also been included in the initial draft and will go under the hammer in the DPL auction.

Aaryavir, who has played for the Delhi U19 team, garnered limelight when he hammered a brilliant knock of 297 runs against Meghalaya. Meanwhile, Vedant, an off-spinner, has played for the Delhi U-16 team. Both Aaryavir and Vedant have been placed in the Category B for the DPL auction.

Two new teams to be part of Delhi Premier League 2025

The inaugural edition of the Delhi Premier League featured six teams. However, the next edition is set to witness the inclusion of two new teams - Outer Delhi and New Delhi franchises. Himmat Singh-led East Delhi Riders defeated South Delhi Superstarz in the final to win the inaugural edition of the tournament last year.

The inaugural edition of the tournament unearthed a few talented players, including the likes of Priyansh Arya, Digvesh Rathi and Vansh Bedi, among others. Priyansh, who smashes six sixes in an over in DPL 2024, was bought for Punjab Kings by Rs 3.80 crore for IPL 2025. Arya scored 475 runs for PBKS in IPL 2025 to play a key role in helping them reach their first final since 2014.

Meanwhile, Rathi took IPL 2025 by storm with his impressive bowling performances for Lucknow Super Giants. He picked up 14 wickets in 13 matches for LSG and was one of the standout performers for the team. Bedi was snapped up by Chennai Super Kings (CSK), but didn't get a game as he missed the second half of the season due to an injury.
