Trump’s $3.3 Trillion Tax Bill Advances in Senate | CBO Flags Huge Debt Spike

The U.S. Senate is racing to pass Donald Trump’s sweeping tax, immigration, and spending megabill — but a new Congressional Budget Office analysis has raised alarm. The CBO says the Senate version would add $3.3 trillion to the national debt, $800 billion more than the House version.

Despite internal GOP friction, a procedural vote narrowly advanced the 940-page bill. Senator Thom Tillis even announced he won’t seek re-election after Trump threatened a primary challenge for his "no" vote. The Senate is now in a marathon session filled with dramatic delays, a bill reading on the floor, and a looming "vote-a-rama."

Trump hailed the Saturday vote as a "great victory” — but Democrats are hoping the sky-high cost projection shakes enough fiscally conservative Republicans before final passage.
