Kathmandu, Nepal, is experiencing significant unrest following student-led Gen Z protests against a recent social media ban. The protests have expanded into a broader movement against the government, fueled by allegations of corruption and political apathy.

Reports describe widespread demonstrations, smoke billowing from buildings, curfews, and intermittent gunfire. The situation has left numerous Indian tourists stranded, facing difficulties accessing essential amenities such as food and water.

Rafeek Pullarat, director of Skykru Holidays India and UAE, reported experiencing roadblocks and witnessing the burning of a police station. Despite the turmoil, Mr Pullarat confirmed that the protesters are not targeting tourists, and his hotel is managing to provide for its guests, including large groups from Rajasthan and Karnataka. Indian authorities, including state governments and the Kerala police, are actively monitoring the situation and assisting stranded citizens.
