PM Modi bowls overs South Africa at G20 Leaders’ Summit as people express gratitude

At the summit, PM Modi introduced a comprehensive six-point agenda aimed at strengthening international cooperation and crisis preparedness. His agendas included a G20 Initiative on Countering the Drug–Terror Nexus, emphasising urgent joint action against trafficking networks.

New Delhi: The G20 Leaders’ Summit took place in South Africa's Johannesburg on November 22. The summit was hosted by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and there Prime Minister Narendra Modi held several bilateral meetings, including talks with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

At the summit, PM Modi introduced a comprehensive six-point agenda aimed at strengthening international cooperation and crisis preparedness. His agendas included a G20 Initiative on Countering the Drug–Terror Nexus, emphasising urgent joint action against trafficking networks, the formation of a G20 Global Healthcare Response Team, consisting of trained medical experts from member states who can be deployed during emergencies, and a G20 Africa-Skills Multiplier Initiative focused on enhancing skills and employment capacity across African nations.

Meanwhile, people from South Africa have expressed gratitude to PM Modi for supporting their country and also for his statesmanship at the G20 Summit.

Humanitarian and Environmentalist Ulrich Janse van Vuuren posted on X, "Have to say I’m so impressed with how supportive and gracious India has been towards South Africa and the continent throughout the G20. So much love for India!"

Molatelo Racheku, co-founder and Director of The African Youth Advisory Network, said, "Prime Minister Modi is the official influencer of the #G20SouthAfrica Summit. He has been feeding the timeline with proper content throughout his stay here. I love to see this. He's also been striking deals with countries, he's on a mission."

A person named Boetie Mathe said, "I enjoy the highlights of PM Modi, excellent PR of G20,", while another user Nompumelelo Ndlovu said, "Getting G20 snippets from this page, sana they mean business with the updates."

Media veteran Tim Modise said, "The biggest democracy in the world will be attending the G20 representing the interests of more than 1.4 billion people. South Africa welcomes India and welcomes your constructive engagement with the rest of the world."
