PTI Parliamentarians Protest at Islamabad High Court for Imran Khans Release Amidst Section 144

| Updated on: Dec 02, 2025 | 08:12 AM

Pakistan's political landscape is bracing for increased tension as parliamentarians from former Prime Minister Imran Khans Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party initiated a significant protest outside the Islamabad High Court. The demonstrations primary objective is to demand the immediate release of their incarcerated leader, Imran Khan, from Adiala Jail.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi announced that after the High Court protest, PTI leaders intend to visit Khan at the high-security facility in Rawalpindi. Afridi further alleged that Imran Khan, the founder of PTI, has been kept in complete isolation since 4th November, with no one permitted to meet him. Khan has been held at Adiala Jail since his arrest in August 2023, facing multiple legal cases.

In anticipation of potentially large gatherings and clashes, authorities have imposed Section 144 in Rawalpindi for three days, sealing all routes leading to Adiala Jail. Security forces are on high alert, as the standoff intensifies, keeping Pakistan on edge amidst this significant political development.
