Putins India Visit: Defence and Trade Push Amidst Europes Warning
President Vladimir Putin's impending two-day visit to India is poised to solidify defence and trade cooperation, with a focus on expanding Indian imports. Discussions are expected to cover S-400 missile systems and the Su-57 fighter programme.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitri Peskov highlighted the strong bilateral relationship, noting current trade volumes at $63 billion and an ambitious target of $100 billion by 2030. Peskov also emphasised India's right to purchase Russian oil without external interference, praising its sovereignty amidst US pressure.
At the VTB Investment Forum, Putin issued a strong warning to Europe, asserting Russia's readiness for conflict if a peace agenda is not pursued. Concurrently, a nationwide check-in system glitch affected multiple Indian airlines, including Air India and IndiGo, causing significant flight delays and disruptions for passengers across the country. The issue, attributed to a third-party system failure, lasted approximately 45 minutes.
