Uzma Khan meets Imran in jail, claims former PM is being mentally tortured

| Updated on: Dec 03, 2025 | 07:56 AM

Uzma Khan, sister of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, has confirmed he is alive following a long-awaited meeting at Adiala Jail. After weeks of denied access, Uzma Khan reported her brother is medically fine but is being held in solitary confinement and subjected to "mental torture". She directly attributed this alleged ill-treatment to General Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff.

Imran Khan has been imprisoned for over three years on corruption allegations, which his family and supporters maintain are false. The meeting comes after widespread protests by PTI supporters and family members, who had been demanding proof of Imran Khan's well-being.

Pakistan's government responded to rising tensions by imposing Section 144 in Rawalpindi, banning gatherings and securing roads around Adiala Jail to curb protests. The permission for Ms Khans visit is seen by some as a response to international media pressure and the negative perception surrounding Mr Khans detention.
