Vatican: The Catholic church is going viral for a adopting a new strategy to attract Gen Z followers to the congregation. They are hoping for their "hot priests" on social media to save the declining followers of the faith. Here are a few priests trying to connect with young followers using Instagram.

This priest from Italy with his warm smile and pleasant personality is trying to connect with young followers on Instagram. Father Cosimo Schena regularly shares religious teachings, Bible quotes and helps people to develop a sense of community through his page. He has a whopping following of more than 454,000. 

This priest, with his tattoos and well-build body, is also trying to bring people close to the church through social media. He believes it is a powerful tool to connect with the younger crowd. The 58-year-old Father Giuseppe Fusari is from Italy's Brescia. He is also a bodybuilder. The priest regularly shares content targeting those aged between 25 to 55. He mostly speaks about the balance between strength and soul. 

This priest is another star on social media. With more than 460,000 followers across Instagram and TikTok, this guitar-playing, bike-riding priest is also inspiring Gen Zs and helping them connect with the church and its teachings. 

Meanwhile, this is not the first time that the Catholic church has used their handsome priests to connect with the masses. A 2022 calendar featuring handsome priests had gone viral. The late Pope Francis had emphasized on the power of social media several times. His successor Pope Leo XIV also seems to be following his footsteps by embracing it as a tool to grow the church and connect with the younger crowd. The Pope has more than 19 million followers on social media. He often shares posts that encourage people to grow in their faith.
