Australia beat India by 3 wickets, record highest successful run-chase in Women's ODI WC history

New Delhi: Australia defeated India by three wickets at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam, on Sunday, October 12. It was the highest successful run-chase in ODI history, as Australia chased down 330 runs. It was Alyssa Healy 's show as she set up the tone of the match with a 142-run contribution from the top. Phoebe Litchfield and Healy made an opening stand of 85 runs in just 68 balls before Shree Charani sent Litchfield back to the pavilion. India bounced back in the game after Ellyse Perry felt some discomfort and was retired hurt from the game. The Women in Blue made a small comeback by dismissing Beth Mooney and Annabel Sutherland in quick succession. But Healy held firm and completed her century, the third in World Cups. Tahlia McGrath provided steady support and helped Australia race past 230 runs in 35 overs. Sneh Rana ended Healy 's carnage, and the crowd roared in appreciation, and a ray of hope appeared in the eyes of Indian fans. Australia were needed...

New Delhi: England registered their third victory in the ongoing Women 's ODI World Cup as they defeated co-hosts Sri Lanka by 89 runs at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Saturday, October 11. Sri Lanka won the toss and invited England to bat first. England made 259 runs for 9 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs, courtesy of skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt 's sensational ton. In response, the co-hosts bundled out for just 164 runs, as their top-scorer in the run chase was opener Hasini Perera, who made just 35 runs off 60 deliveries. Sophie Ecclestone was the pick of the bowlers as he scalped four wickets and gave just 17 runs in 10 overs with a brilliant economy of just 1.70. Sri Lanka were pretty much comfortable in the run chase until Ecclestone came into the bowling attack in the 19th over of the innings. The co-hosts were 89/1 until Eccleston 's havoc came. The left-arm spinner changed the trajectory of the match, and at one point in time, she gave just six runs in...

Issues India need to fix ahead of Australia clash in Women's ODI World Cup 2025

New Delhi: I ndia haven 't got the perfect start to the ongoing Women 's ODI World Cup despite winning two out of three games so far in the tournament. India defeated Pakistan and Sri Lanka in their first two matches, but their clash against one of the favorites, South Africa, didn 't go their way, and they were handed a reality check by the Proteas side. India were performing below par in all the matches, but the opposition 's inability of not put pressure on big teams helped them to win games against small teams. But when South Africa were against India, and they were nearly losing the game, Narkine de Klerk stepped up and single-handedly took the game away from India 's hands. Issues need to be fixed ahead of Australia clash 1. Top-order failure India 's order came with a run-fest in Australia 's series before the World Cup, but from the first match, the Women in Blue 's top-order never clicked in any game so far in the tournament. The...

Sneak peek into Team India's invincible Test record in Delhi

New Delhi: India and West Indies will play the second Test match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Friday, October 10. The hosts handed a big defeat to the visitors in the first Test as they defeated them by an innings and 140 runs and won the match under three days. India will look to continue their dominance run in the red-ball format in one of their favourite home stadiums.
