Upcoming adventure bikes in India 2026
Several new adventure and off-road motorcycles are expected to enter the market soon, ranging from mid-capacity tourers to hardcore motocross machines. Models like the KTM 390 Adventure R, Royal Enfield Himalayan 750, BMW F 450 GS and Ducati Desmo450 MX bring updated engines, new platforms and modern features, targeting riders looking for performance both on-road and off-road.
New Delhi: The adventure and off-road motorcycle segment is expected to see several new models in the coming months, covering different engine sizes and riding styles. Brands are adding more options for riders who want something beyond regular road bikes, from adventure tourers that can handle highways and rough roads to bikes built only for off-road use. However they all likely to launch in 2026
Motorcycles like the KTM 390 Adventure R and BMW F 450 GS are designed to handle touring while still being capable off the road, while the Royal Enfield Himalayan 750 is set to take the brand into a higher-capacity and more premium space. At the other end, the Ducati Desmo450 MX is a focused motocross bike meant only for track use. These upcoming models show a clear shift towards more specialised motorcycles for touring, trail riding and off-road riding.
KTM 390 Adventure R
The KTM 390 Adventure R uses the same 399cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine as the current model. It makes around 45 bhp and 39 Nm of torque and is paired with a six-speed gearbox and a slipper clutch. The engine performs well on highways and is still easy to manage at low speeds on trails. However, fuel tank capacity stays the same at 14 litres.In terms of features, the bike is expected to get cornering ABS, traction control, off-road ABS, multiple ride modes, cruise control and a 5-inch TFT screen. LED lights, USB Type-C charging and smartphone connectivity via KTM Connect are also likely.Official pricing is not out yet, but it is expected to cost more than the standard 390 Adventure, which is priced at around Rs 3.94 lakh (ex-showroom). The expected price range is between Rs 4 lakh and Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom).
Royal Enfield Himalayan 750
The Himalayan 750 is based on a new 750cc platform, which is more advanced than Royal Enfield’s earlier offerings. Reports suggest it will use a 750cc parallel-twin engine producing around 53-55 bhp and 65-70 Nm of torque. Expected hardware includes USD front forks, a rear monoshock and tubeless wire-spoke wheels. Alloy wheels could also be offered as an option. Himalayan 750 may get twin front disc brakes and an upswept exhaust to help with water crossings and off-road riding. However, design wise it will retain the familiar Himalayan look but with a cleaner and more premium finish. The fuel tank is expected to be larger, at around 20 litres, making it better suited for long-distance touring.
BMW F 450 GS
The BMW F 450 GS will serve as the brand’s new entry level adventure bike, replacing the G 310 GS. It comes with a 420cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that is capable of producing 48 hp at 8,750 rpm and 43 Nm at 6,750 rpm, paired with a six-speed gearbox. The bike gets a 6.5-inch colour TFT display, heated grips, traction control, four riding modes and switchable dual-channel ABS. Globally, it is available in four variants, including Basic, Exclusive, Sport and Trophy. While it is not yet clear which versions will be launched in India. Brand is targeting an early 2026 launch, possibly in January. Pricing is expected to be between Rs 4.50 lakh and Rs 5.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
Ducati Desmo450 MX
The Ducati Desmo450 MX is powered by a 449.6cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine paired with a five-speed gearbox. It produces 63.5 hp at 9,500 rpm and 53.5 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. The engine uses Ducati’s Desmodromic valve system and can rev up to 11,900 rpm, offering quick throttle response and strong acceleration. The bike is built on a lightweight aluminium frame weighing 9 kg, with a total kerb weight of 104.8 kg. Suspension duties are handled by fully adjustable Showa units, while braking is taken care of by disc brakes at both ends. It also features Takasago Excel rims, Alpina spokes and Pirelli Scorpion MX32 tyres.
