New Delhi: Tired of going around the Aadhaar centre again and again for Aadhaar card updates? Now, UIDAI has given a big relief to the general public by providing the facility to update their mobile number sitting at home through the new Aadhaar App. This means that now if an individual wants to change the mobile number in Aadhaar, the person will not have to face the trouble of going to the Aadhaar centre and killing time in a long queue. Not only will the applicant be able to update the mobile number sitting at home through the app, but it has also been clarified that no documents are needed to update the mobile number.
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) recently shared a post on microblogging platform X and informed that soon the address change facility will be started for people sitting at home. This makes one thing clear that now after the mobile number update service starts, people will be able to avail the address change facility with the new Aadhaar app while sitting at home.
According to UIDAI, the system will authenticate users with the OTP sent to their existing or new mobile number, after which face authentication steps will have to be completed using the built-in verification tools of the Aadhaar app. The purpose of this two-step process is to maintain a high level of security while providing an easy and user-friendly experience. UIDAI also emphasized that this upgrade has eliminated the need for physical documentation or centre visits.
Android users can download and install the new Aadhaar app through Google Play Store and Apple users App Store. After the app is downloaded, open the app, select the language and then enter the 12-digit Aadhaar number. After entering the Aadhaar number, the app will complete the verification with the OTP on the mobile number. Then complete the face scan authentication and create a 6-digit security PIN to keep your profile safe on the app.
