New Delhi: Ahead of Raksha Bandhan, heavy traffic jams were reported on multiple routes connecting Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, and Moradabad on Thursday evening, causing major inconvenience to commuters. Vehicular movement on the Delhi–Moradabad Expressway slowed to a crawl from Sarai Kale Khan to Dasna. Noida Traffic Police said that traffic on Kisan Chowk Marg is being managed, with personnel deployed at key points to ensure smooth flow.
In Noida, a massive jam was seen under the Film City flyover, where traffic police have taken charge to clear the congestion. Similar efforts are underway on Kasna Tiraha Road, IFS roundabout, Safipur cut, and Surajpur Tiraha Road. Police reaffirmed at 8:14 p.m. that there were officers on duty and that traffic was being controlled on Kisan Chowk Road. However, there were also reports of severe traffic on the Kalindi Kunj route between Noida and Delhi, with lengthy car lines leading to major delays.
Roads from Noida to Delhi and Haryana, the approach to the container depot in Greater Noida, and Hoshiarpur Tiraha in Sector 51 were additional choke points. People on social media expressed their annoyance; one commuter claimed to have been stranded close to the depot for a long time. Noida Police further informed that there was traffic pressure on SJM Hospital Tiraha Marg, but management measures were in place.
