GRAP 4 invoked across Delhi-NCR

Meanwhile, in order to tackle the rising pollution levels in the Delhi-NCR region. The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has invoked GRAP-4 measures in the city to tackle pollution. Under this, privately owned non-BS VI vehicles registered outside Delhi will not be allowed to enter the capital, vehicles without a pollution under control certificate will be denied fuel and offices have been asked to function at 50% capacity, with the rest of the staff working from home.

Apart from this, the schools have been asked to function in 'hybrid' mode, allowing students to attend online classes. Under the GRAP-4 provisions, the CAQM had also carried out a road-inspection on December 12. This was under the current monitoring and enforcement measures carried out in the city under the statutory framework and provisions of GRAP.

The Delhi Airport had issued an advisory for passengers, earlier this morning. They requested passengers to contact their airlines, before reaching the airport. Passengers were informed that due to dense fog flight operations were under CAT 3 conditions, which might lead to delays and disruptions. However, another update by the Airport management said that by 9:18 am on Thursday, all flight operations were normal.
