New Delhi: A 25-year-old woman in Faridabad was allegedly gangraped by two men in a moving van for hours and was thrown out of the vehicle in the early hours of Tuesday, two days before the New Year. The incident took place on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, according to police.
The woman lodged a complaint with the police on Tuesday, alleging that the two accused raped her on the pretext of giving her a lift on Monday night. Based on her complaint, police arrested the two accused and seized the van used in the crime.
What happened on intervening night of Mon and Tues
According to the complaint, on the night of December 29, around 8:30 pm, the woman went to a female friend's house after an argument with her mother. The victim, a mother of three, was recently separated from her husband due to a domestic dispute and lives with her mother.
Around 12:30 am, the woman left her friend's house to return home. When she reached Metro Chowk, she was looking for an auto-rickshaw. At that moment, a van stopped, and two young men inside offered to drop her off at home. Trusting them, the woman got into the van.
The complainant alleged that instead of taking her home, the two men drove her towards Gurgaon and raped her in a forest along the way. Around 3 am, the woman was thrown out of the moving van near Raja Chowk in SGM Nagar. The woman sustained serious head injuries and was bleeding profusely. The woman's family members reached the spot after she called her sister and took her to a nearby hospital in a critical condition. The victim received 11-12 stitches.
