New Delhi: Actor Adah Sharma has responded to the curiosity and criticism surrounding her decision to move into the Mumbai apartment once occupied by late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The Bandra West duplex, located in the Mont Blanc building, had remained vacant for nearly three years following Sushant’s death in June 2020. Adah, however, has emphasised that she now calls the space home, and that it has brought her nothing but “positive vibes.”
Adah moved into the sea-facing 4BHK duplex with her mother and grandmother after signing a five-year lease in October 2023. She clarified that she is only a tenant, just as Sushant had been, and that the flat continues to be owned by Mr Lalwani, who currently resides in South Africa.
Speaking to TV9 English’s Vanshika Singh in an exclusive interview, Adah shared that the home immediately felt peaceful and welcoming. Recalling the strangest response she received after shifting in, Adah revealed a humorous incident involving an unexpected ‘neighbour.’
She said, “People are very happy I’m staying in a house that was abandoned and shut for 3 years. The most bizarre reaction was the moment I moved in, one crow came, sat on the balcony railing and behaved like he was the legal owner. Full attitude. As if he was saying: ‘Welcome mere ghar mein.’ Even if I have a night shoot and want to sleep late, he caws loudly and wakes me up at 8 am. He thinks he is the landlord.”
Adah Sharma is known for films like The Kerala Story, 1920, Bastar: The Naxal Story, Hassee Toh Phasee, and Tumko Meri Kasam, to name a few.
