New Delhi: One of the highly-anticipated movie, Coolie, starring Rajinikanth is set for a grand release on August 14, 2025. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the Tamil film has been smashing records at the box office despite clash with War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan. The film is expected to mint huge numbers at the ticket window as Coolie mania takes over the nation.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film has achieved a monumental feat by crossing Rs 100 crore in advance bookings for its opening weekend. The film has sold tickets over Rs 50 crore in India, including Rs 38 crore for its opening day, spanning across languages.
The overseas pre-sales of Coolie are soaring over Rs 60 crore gross for the weekend with Rs 45 crore for the opening day. In India, the film has generated over Rs 110 crore in advance booking sales for the opening weekend with Rs 80 crore gross for the opening day. In North America, the film has collected USD 2 million in pre-sales in North America.
The film has so far sold over 10 lakh tickets in its Tamil version, over 1 lakh tickets in its Telugu version, over 26,000 tickets in its Hindi version, and over 2,000 tickets in its Kannada version.
Rajinikanth’s actioner Coolie is one of the much-awaited movies of the superstar, especially because the actor completes 50 years in the film industry. The ticket prices of the movie is also soaring high in South India. In a Chennai theatre, the ticket prices for the movie is Rs 4,500 for the First Day First Show. The film also stars Nagarjuna Akkineni. Shruti Haasan, Upendra, and Aamir Khan in the cameo role. According to reports, Aamir Khan has also waved off his fees for the film.
