Dharmendra 100-acre farmhouse: Veteran actor Dharmendra, whose long and illustrious career made him one of Hindi cinema’s most adored stars, spent the later years of his life far from the blinding lights of Bollywood. While fans continued to celebrate his legacy through his films, the actor himself chose a quieter world.
His sprawling 100-acre farmhouse in Khandala, where he lived with his first wife, Prakash Kaur. Over time, the property became more than just a retreat; it turned into a sanctuary he lovingly transformed into a rustic paradise.
During the COVID-19 lockdown, glimpses of this life were shared online by Dharmendra himself. His videos, often filmed casually on his phone, showed a man at ease—feeding cattle, plucking fresh vegetables, or simply strolling across vast fields. These moments resonated deeply with fans, who saw him not as the legendary “He-Man” of Bollywood but as someone reconnecting with the soil he grew up around.
Bobby Deol spoke earlier to ABP Live about his parents’ decision to stay at the farmhouse. “My mum Prakash is also there. They are both at the farm in Khandala right now. Papa and mummy are together; he just gets a little dramatic. They love being at the farmhouse. They are also old now, and being at the farmhouse is relaxing for them. The weather is nice, the food is nice. Papa has made a paradise out there,” he shared.

Even Bobby’s wife, Tania Deol, had mentioned that Prakash preferred spending long stretches away from their Juhu home because both she and Dharmendra felt happiest surrounded by nature.
Unlike the lavish, ultra-modern holiday homes many celebrities build, Dharmendra’s retreat was rooted in simplicity. Growing up in Sahnewal, Punjab, he carried his farming instincts throughout his life. The farmhouse allowed him to return to that rhythm, one where brass utensils, mud pots, and hand-ground spices filled a modest country kitchen.

The land itself thrived under his care. The estate housed cows, buffaloes, ducks and guinea fowls, all part of his daily routine. Dharmendra enjoyed driving tractors, ploughing fields, and proudly showing off harvests of organic vegetables. He even cultivated mustard to prepare his own mustard oil. A small lake on the property often featured in his videos, usually with cattle sunbathing by the water.
