New Delhi: Experience the magic of Bollywood’s greatest film family like never before in Dining with the Kapoors, premiering on Netflix this November 21. This intimate one-hour special invites you to join the Kapoor family for a grand lunch celebrating the 100th birthday of legendary Raj Kapoor.
Filled with laughter, heartfelt memories, and delicious food, this is a rare glimpse into the legacy and love that have made the Kapoors Bollywood royalty for nearly a century.
Netflix's Dining with the Kapoors is ready to serve fans a heartfelt tribute to Bollywood’s first film family. The special marks the 100th birthday of the legendary actor and filmmaker Raj Kapoor, whose family has ruled both the box office and the hearts of millions for nearly 100 years.
Created by Armaan Jain and directed by Smriti Mundhra, known for hit documentaries like Indian Matchmaking and Never Have I Ever, the special offers an intimate look at the Kapoor family through a fly-on-the-wall documentary style. This allows viewers to feel like they are sitting right at the table, sharing laughter and stories alongside the family.
The show features famous Kapoor family members including Randhir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and others. It captures playful banter, tender reflections, and the important role food plays in bringing the family together.
Director Smriti Mundhra shared, “The Kapoors are not just a Bollywood dynasty, but the type of family we all want to be a part of: extremely tight, fun-loving, and absolutely obsessed with food. What I wanted to capture wasn’t just their story on the surface, but that feeling of being right there at the table with them—hearing the stories, the laughter, the unfiltered moments that happen when the performance drops away. I’m grateful to Armaan Jain and the entire Kapoor clan for allowing me to be a small part of their legacy.”
Creator Armaan Jain said, “Bringing the Kapoor khandan together around a table felt like unlocking a treasure trove of stories — the laughter, the delightful chaos, the endless feasts, and of course, the playful banter that is ingrained in our essence. Dining with the Kapoors is my tribute to my grandfather (Raj Kapoor) and a celebration of the timeless connection that binds us.”
Set your reminders to watch this once-in-a-generation gathering of Bollywood royalty, a celebration of love, legacy, and camaraderie, only on Netflix from November 21. Pull up a chair and enjoy this feast of family, food, and unforgettable memories.
