Mumbai: Hollywood actor Dwayne Johnson remembered the late actor Robin Williams on the occasion of Jumanji's 30th anniversary. He recollected the phenomenal actor and stated that he was one of his favourite actors.
Dwayne, who is gearing up for the next film in the Jumanji sequel, stated that he had chills just thinking about the Jumanji journey that started 30 years ago. Further, he talked about his favourite moment from the original movie. He said it was the moment when antagonist Van Pelt asked Robin’s character, Alan Parrish, if he was afraid.
The Rock stated, "Robin says, ‘I’m terrified, but my father always told me to face my fears.’ And then Van Pelt cocks that gun and says, ‘Any last words?’ and Robin says, ‘Jumanji.’ What’s so cool is you see the dice begin to roll."
Dwayne then stated, "As many of you know, as my ode to Robin, the man, the OG, the GOAT, one of my favourite actors ever—I had the opportunity to meet him one time and give him a big hug. As an ode, out of respect to Robin and the original Jumanji, I have the original dice. Right here. To Robin, to that entire crew of Jumanji, 30 years ago today, we love you, we thank you."
Robin Williams played the role of Alan Parrish in the movie. Parrish is a boy who got trapped inside the magical board game for 26 years and then came out as an adult. Robin's acting left the audience feel connected to the story very deeply despite it being a fantasy. The actor's abiity to blend humour with the deep vulnerability of the character made it one of his unforgettable performances.
