New Delhi: Karisma Kapoor's children, Samara and Kiaan, are embroiled in a legal battle over their late father Sunjay Kapur's estate. The children's lawyer has made serious allegations against their stepmother Priya Sachdev.
Samara and Kiaan have sued their father's third wife and widow Sachdev for forging his will and excluding them from his estate. Senior advocate Mahesh Jethmalani, who appeared for the kids in court, pointed out some shocking blunders and errors in the will. He claimed that it implied that Kapur had not "prepared, read or made" the will. He stated the Kiaan's name was spelt incorrectly and Samara's address was incorrect in their father's will.
“He had a very good relationship with his children. How can he have written his daughter's address wrong and misspelled his son's name in multiple places in the will? This will demeans the late Sunjay Kapoor. It is so casual,” said Jethmalani.
The counsel appearing on behalf of the kids stated that there was no reason to believe the will was forged was anyone else other than the children's stepmother.
"This can only be done by the beneficiary of the will, to prevent any challenges. Only one person was given the benefits. If this will is a forgery, then only one person could have forged it," said the advocate.
The court proceedings on the matter will continue.
Meanwhile, the kids had accused the stepmother of being greedy. She was described in court as "Cinderella’s evil stepmother".
