Mumbai: Actress and comedian Upasana Singh cherished her memories of the late Indian film and television actor Pankaj Dheer. In an exclusive interview, Singh shared how the news of his death has affected her.
"I got to know that Pankaj ji is no more. This is very sad news for me because I have worked a lot with him," said the actress.
She added, "We had a very good relationship. He always had a very positive attitude. I am in a lot of pain. I don't understand. I don't have words. I don't know what to say. It's very sad."
Upasana went on to recollect the time she worked with Pankaj Dheer, best known for his role as Karna in Mahabharat.
"Then we used to have a serial called Raja Ki Aai Ki Baraat, in which we were working together for two and a half years. And I had a very good relationship with him because whenever we had a party or something, he always used to come whenever I called him. And he always used to laugh," she said. The distressed actress reminisced, "I have never seen him angry or upset. So, we had a very good friendship. We used to talk on the phone sometimes. So, I am not able to understand."
She also reflected on recent events and said, "In Punjab, a lot of actors have passed away. Jaswinder Bhalla has passed away. There is another actor, Singhar. He has passed away. There are a lot of actors in Punjab who have passed away. It's a very bad time. I don't know what kind of time we are living in. I keep hearing news about someone's death."
Pankaj Dheer died of cardiac arrest on October 15. Mahabharat, Chandrakanta, Badho Bahu, are some of his noted works.
