New Delhi: A fire broke out at an apartment building in Hyderabad’s Somajiguda area on Saturday evening. It triggered panic among residents. The incident occurred at Alpine Heights, also known as Alpa Nights Block, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Panjagutta Police Station.
Flames were seen engulfing the fifth floor of the building, while thick smoke spread across the premises, forcing residents to rush out for safety. Fire department officials rushed to the spot and pressed three fire engines into service to douse the blaze. Five ambulances were also stationed at the location as a precaution.
Preliminary information suggests that a gas cylinder blast may have caused the fire, though officials said the exact cause will be confirmed after a detailed investigation.
During the rescue operation, firefighters safely rescued a pet dog that was trapped inside the affected flat, drawing appreciation from local residents.
No human casualties were reported. The fire was brought under control, and cooling operations were carried out. Police and fire officials are continuing their investigation to ascertain the precise cause of the incident.
