Hemant Sharma, Whole Time Director and News Director of TV9 Network, was honoured with the "One World, One Family Voice of the People Award." This honor was given in recognition of TV9 Network's social concerns and its contribution to improving society.
Puttaparthi Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai, a follower of Sathya Sai Baba, honoured Hemant Sharma for his social work in the Excellence in Media and Journalism category. The felicitation ceremony took place at the One World, One Family World Cultural Festival organised at Satya Sai Gram in Chikkaballapur, Karnataka.
In his speech on this occasion, Hemant Sharma said, "Rising above all boundaries, going beyond all limits, to value service, happiness, equality, to respect and uphold them is the objective of your mission. I congratulate you."
He said, "For the first time in my life, I've seen a hospital that doesn't have a billing counter, but a help desk. I've been told the same situation exists with education and nutrition. I don't remember anywhere else in the world, across the globe, where 10 million children are nourished in a single day. I salute Madhusudan Sai ji for this work. I praise you."
He said, "Your mission is underway with the commitment of One World, One Family. My best wishes. I once again salute you and express my gratitude for the honour I have been bestowed upon you, for which I previously stated that I do not deserve it. Therefore, I dedicate this honour to you. Just as the priest in the Yagya says - 'Indam Indray Namah', this is Indra's, not mine, in the same way my mind says towards respect, 'Indam Madhusudnaya Namah'."
On this occasion, Madhusudan Sai praised TV9's positive reporting. He said that TV9's positive reporting helps patients who come for free treatment. Renowned authors Ruskin Bond, Dr Vikram Sampath, and Amish Tripathi were also honoured with the One World, One Family Voice of the People Award. Renowned voice-over artist Harish Bhimani received the honour in the Literary and Advocacy Impact category.
