New Delhi: The Indian Coast Guard has detained a Pakistani fishing vessel that was allegedly found operating within India’s maritime limits, taking all 11 crew members into custody during a routine patrol in the Arabian Sea. The interception, carried out on Wednesday, December 10, was confirmed by officials on Thursday and has been described as part of India’s continuing effort to maintain vigilance along its vast coastline.

Authorities said the crew was later moved to the Jakhau Marine police station in Gujarat, where they are undergoing further questioning. Initial information suggests the vessel had ventured into India’s Exclusive Economic Zone, an area where the country exercises rights over natural resources and maritime security. Such interceptions are not uncommon, but officials noted that each incident is treated seriously due to the security sensitivities linked to India and Pakistan's maritime boundary.
