India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has fact-checked misleading reports concerning a demonstration held outside the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi. The MEA clarified that a small group of approximately 20 to 25 youths gathered briefly on 28th December to protest the killing of Dipu Chandra Das in Bangladesh and demanded protection for minority communities.
The Ministry stated that there was no attempt to breach security or create a law and order situation, and police peacefully dispersed the protesters within minutes. Visual evidence of the incident is publicly available.
India reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety of all foreign missions, in line with the Vienna Convention. India continues to monitor the situation in Bangladesh, expressing strong concerns over rising attacks on minorities and urging Dhaka to bring those responsible for Dipu Chandra Dass killing to justice.
Separately, the Vishva Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal Delhi province have announced a protest at the Bangladesh High Commission.
