Kolkata: Police have arrested an Infosys techie who was working in Bengaluru for allegedly recording videos of a woman inside the toilet of the office.
The techie, identified as Nagesh Swapnil Mali, is a senior associate at Infosys. He was caught recording videos by the woman employee on Monday. She has lodged an FIR in this regard.
The woman has stated in the FIR that she noticed suspicious activity in the toilet cubicle next to her and found out that Nagesh was filming her. Immediately, she raised an alarm. Hearing her cry, other employees rushed to the spot and caught Mali red-handed.
His mobile phone was searched, and it had the video footage. Later, Human Resources personnel deleted the woman in the presence of the victim.
As per an NDTV report quoting police sources, this incident is probably not an isolated one. Police are investigating whether Mali secretly recorded more women. His mobile phone has been sent to a forensic lab to retrieve deleted content.
In April, police arrested a 25-year-old employee of a guest house in Ayodhya near the Ram Temple for allegedly filming a woman while she was taking a bath. The devotee from Varanasi saw a shadow and someone filming her through the tin roof. The man, Saurabh Tiwari, was arrested, and his phone was seized. In that, police found videos of other women guests.
