New Delhi: In a significant development in the acid attack case of a 20-year-old DU student, police have arrested the woman’s father, identified as Aqeel Khan. The investigation reveals that Aqeel orchestrated the entire plan to take revenge on Jitendra’s family.
Earlier, the accused Jitendra's wife has made several allegations against the victim's family. She claimed that the false allegations are connected to past events that are unknown to the police.
Two days ago, on October 24th, Jitendra's wife made a PCR call. She told the police that the victim's father, identified as Aqeel Khan, had been blackmailing and harassing her for a long time. She further alleged that between 2021 and 2024, she worked in Aqeel Khan's factory, during which she was sexually harassed by him. Moreover, Khan reportedly recorded objectionable videos, which he used to blackmail her. A case has been registered in this matter at the Bhalswa Dairy police station, and Aqeel Khan is currently absconding.
The story does not end here. The two other accused, Armaan and Ishan, are presently residing in Agra with their mother, Shabnam. The case became more complicated when Shabnam revealed that she too suffered an acid attack in 2028, allegedly orchestrated by Khan's relatives. Shabnam and Aqeel Khan are also currently in court over a property dispute in Mongolpuri.
Police investigations revealed that Jitendra was spotted in Karol Bagh when the incident took place. His mobile location, CCTV footage, and witness statements confirmed this. Furthermore, his bike was recovered from the Karol Bagh area.
On October 26, a woman from Delhi's Mukundapur suffered acid burn injuries after three men allegedly attacked her following a debate that took place a few months ago. The woman is a student at Delhi's Laxmi Bai College. She is currently receiving treatment at Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital.
