New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will make a visit to Gujarat on Saturday, September 20, with a tight schedule that includes a roadshow, a public rally, the inauguration of projects worth thousands of crores, and a review of heritage development works in the state..
The visit will start in Bhavnagar, where the Prime Minister is scheduled to hold a 1.5 km-long roadshow at 10 am. Nearly 30,000 people are expected to participate in the event, which will underline themes of Operation Sindoor, GST relief, and Atmanirbhar Bharat. Following the procession, Modi will address a large public gathering at Jawahar Maidan.
During his Bhavnagar visit, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate shipping and maritime projects worth ₹1.5 lakh crore. He will also dedicate development works worth more than ₹100 crore to the public.
Later in the day, at around 1 pm, Modi will travel to Lothal in the Ahmedabad district to review the progress of the National Maritime Heritage Complex (NMHC).
With an estimated budget of Rs 4,500 crore, the complex is being developed as a world-class centre to represent India’s maritime legacy and to embody the Prime Minister’s vision of "Viraasat Bhi, Vikas Bhi" (Heritage as well as Development). The Prime Minister will then inspect the completed sections of the complex, hold a detailed review meeting, and assess the ongoing works at the site.
This marks PM Modi's second visit to his native state within a month. On August 25 and 26, he visited Gujarat for the launch of development projects worth Rs 5,400 crore across infrastructure, transport, power and green energy sectors.
The PM also inaugurated a hybrid battery plant in Ahmedabad's Hansalpur and flagged off Suzuki's first global battery electric vehicle, eVitara, for exports to over 100 countries, including Japan and Europe.
PM Modi claimed that the government would not let any harm come to the country's entrepreneurs, farmers and animal keepers, no matter how much pressure is built on India. This was regarding the concerns around growing US demand to open the agriculture, dairy and farming markets. India has maintained that it will secure its domestic farmers and markets and cannot sideline them during the ongoing bilateral trade negotiations.
