Following his arrival, Gandhi will proceed to Sonapur, on the outskirts of Guwahati, where the singer's last rites were performed, to offer his respects. He is also expected to visit the residence of the deceased artist to convey condolences to the bereaved family members.
Zubeen Garg, aged 52, tragically passed away in Singapore on September 19th after an incident while swimming in the sea. An SIT is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the singers death.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reacted to Rahul Gandhi's visit, stating that the Congress leaders tribute to the cultural icon comes 28 days after his passing.
