Siddipet: A female junior doctor at Siddipet Medical college died while receiving treatment at NIMS Hospital in Hyderabad on Saturday night, tv9 telugu reported.

The student identified as Lavanaya, from Jogulamba Gadwala district was an intern at Government General Hospital.

On Saturday morning, she attempted suicide by injecting paraquet herbicide (a poisonous drug used to control weeds in crops) in her hostel room. Her fellow students immediately rushed her to Siddipet Government General Hospital.

She was later shifted to NIMS Hospital for better treatment, where she died while undergoing treatment.

The college staff said that Lavanya suffered from severe stress due to the pressure of internship and preparation for the NEET PG exam. Based on the complaint of her family members, Siddipet three town police have registered a case and an investigation is underway.

Car collides with RTC bus in Jagtial, eight injured:

In a separate incident in the state, a car collided with an RTC bus on Sunday in the outskirts of Medipalli village, injuring eight people and four of them are said to be critical.

The 12 passengers in the car were returning home after visiting Gangapur Dattatreya Swamy Temple in Karnataka.
