ED raids I-PAC chief's house, TMC's political consultant as CM Banerjee 'takes green file'

In a massive development that can have major effect on Bengal politics, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday raided the house of Prateek Jain, the chief of I-PAC. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee reached the house of Jain during the raid, as the political circle heats up before the Assembly elections this year.

ED raids I-PAC office in Salt Lake

The ED raided the Salt Lake Sector 5 office of TMC's consultancy firm, I-PAC, on Thursday morning. According to sources within the investigating agency, a special team has arrived from Delhi for the raid. According to ED sources, this raid is related to an old coal smuggling case registered in Delhi and I-PAC's name has surfaced in several transactions in that case.

Mamata Banerjee reaches Jain's house

CM Banerjee visited the house of Jain during the ED raid. She told reporters, "My IT office has been raided. They are trying to grab all the information including the party's hard disk, candidate list. Since the elections are ahead, they are trying to grab all the information of our party. I have left with everything." According to a report by TV9 Bangla, she came out of Jain's house with a green file, and then reached the I-PAC office.
