New Delhi: Udaipur is on a high alert -- not because of a terror threat but because of a high-profile wedding. It's the wedding of lesser-known billionaire Raju Mantena's daughter Netra. She is tying the knot with Vamsi Gadiraju.
Global spotlight is on the 'City of Lakes', which has turned into a fortress, with authorities keeping a close watch on movement of people and manning the traffic.
The royal city is hosting the lavish wedding from November 21 and 24. And the guest list is packed with some of the most prominent names in business, politics, and entertainment. It includes Donald Trump Jr., son of the US President Donald Trump. Videos of him visiting the Taj Mahal in Agra have already gone viral, marking the start of an international celebration.
The celebrations will also headline performances by global superstars Jennifer Lopez and Justin Bieber, who are reportedly reaching Udaipur to entertain the guests. Tiësto, Black Coffee, Cirque du Soleil, and DJ Aman Nagpal will also perform at the gala event.
Popular Bollywood stars like Nora Fatehi, Hrithik Roshan, Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, and Madhuri Dixit are also expected to grace the three-day event. Karan Johar, Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Jacqueline Fernandez, Dia Mirza, Amyra Dastur, and Sophie Choudry are also among the expected guests. Over 120 celebrities from around 40 countries will be in attendance, a Free Press Journal report said. Several chartered planes have already arrived for the festivities.
Raju Mantena is the Chairman and CEO of Ingenus Pharmaceuticals, a pharmaceutical company. It is headquartered in the United States. Mantena is hosting the lavish event. Mantena has built a robust reputation in the healthcare sector as the founder of ICORE Healthcare, the International Oncology Network (ION), and OncoScripts.
Mantena's company, Ingenus Pharmaceuticals, has research and development facilities spanning across the US, Switzerland, and India.
Mantena did his graduation in clinical pharmacy from the University of Maryland. He also has a bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU).
Mantena was born in India and he later set up his business in the US. He started his career as the CEO of P4 Healthcare in Jupiter, Florida. As per reports, Raju Mantena's net worth is estimated to be around $20 million (approximately Rs 167 crore). He is married to Padmaja Mantena.
Netra Mantena, his daughter, will marry Vamsi Gadiraju in a three-day celebration being described as 'The Biggest Wedding of the Year'. Gadiraju is the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Superorder, a platform that helps multi-location restaurants streamline delivery, takeaway services, and manage day-to-day operations. He has also spearheaded the development of a number of AI tools at Superorder, which includes an AI website builder for restaurants.
The wedding arrangements have been made by Mumbai’s Wizcraft Weddings & Social Events.
The festivities will be held in The Leela Palace, Manek Chowk, Zenana Mahal and Jagmandir Island Palace on Lake Pichola. The city has been decked up for the celebrations. At the same time, the security has been stepped up. A US security advance team has carried out inspections of all important routes and venues. Patrols around airports, hotels, and the palace grounds have been scaled up by the local police.
