Lord Shiva temples across the country, including Ujjain Mahakaleshwar, Deoghar Baba Baidyanath Dham and Mankameshwar temple in Prayagraj, welcomed devotees on the first Monday of Sawan. Bhasma Aarti of Baba Mahakal was performed on the first Sawan Somwar (first Monday of the Shravan or Sawan month). Devotees have arrived in large numbers to perform Jalabhishek. Devotees saw the special form of Mahakal. Har Har Mahadev chants were echoed in Lord Shiva temples across the country. The Sawan month began on July 11, Friday, and will conclude on August 9.
