New Delhi: South Africa extended their lead past 500 runs to continue dominance on the fourth day of the second Test match against India in Guwahati. Being at pole position of a huge victory in the final match of the series, the Proteas were 220/4 with a handsome lead of 508 runs when Lunch was called in the second innings.
They continued from where they had left as the visiting side managed to dominate the opening two sessions with grit and determination, leaving India with no choice but just hope. In the penultimate session of the day, the Proteas scored 113 runs while India just managed a lone wicket. Ravindra Jadeja gave the breakthrough in form of Tony de Zorzi, who departed to the pavilion for 49 runs, remaining one short of a fifty.
Meanwhile, Tristan Stubbs, who partnered with him to build up a strong stand after couple of wickets fell, was unbeaten on 60 while Wiaan Mulder was not out on 29 when the second session of the day ended.
