The likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma will return to action when Suryakumar Yadav-led India take on Australia in a five-match T20I series, starting Wednesday, October 29. After losing the ODI series 1-2, India will be looking to bounce back to winning ways in the T20I series.

The series opener is set to be played at the Manuka Oval in Canberra on Thursday. India will be heading into the series on a confident note, having lifted the Asia Cup 2025 title last month after enjoying a dominant run in the tournament. India went on to lift the trophy unbeaten after beating Pakistan in a thrilling final.

In the run-up to the T20 World Cup next year, India will look to continue their winning momentum in the upcoming series against Australia Down Under. Bumrah, who was rested from the ODI series, will be back to spearhead the pace attack, while Abhishek, Tilak and Suryakumar will headline India's top order.

In the absence of Hardik Pandya, India will hope for all-rounders Shivam Dube and Nitish Reddy to step up in the series. India's bowling combination remains a hot topic of debate as it remains to be seen if the visitors will prefer a three-man spin attack, which has earned them success in recent times, or play three specialist pacers to exploit Australian conditions.

It is expected to be an evenly matched contest between the two top teams, as Australia too will be heading into the series on the back of a 2-0 win in the T20I series against New Zealand earlier this month. With skipper Mitchell Marsh firing all cylinders, Australia have a strong batting line-up that can take down any bowling attack on their day. The hosts also have a formidable pace attack, which will be led by the experienced Josh Hazlewood.
