New Delhi: Kuldeep Yadav shined with the ball with Prasidh Krishna giving him a superb company from the other end as India bundled out South Africa for 270 runs in the third and final ODI at Vizag. After the Proteas were put into bat first by KL Rahul, Quinton de Kock sizzled with his record-breaking 23rd ODI ton to become the major contributor for the South African team.
Skipper Temba Bavuma also played a valiant knock of 48 runs but remained 2 short of his half-century as Ravindra Jadeja sent him back to the pavilion. Dewald Brevis added 29 runs to the score while Matthew Breetzke contributed 24 runs as South Africa scored 270 runs in 47.5 overs at ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam.
Kuldeep, who became the highest wicket-taker in the series with nine scalps, proved to be very economical as he gave away just 41 runs in his four-over spell but Prasidh was smashed for few hard shots as the pacer ended up giving 66 runs in 9.5 overs. Apart from these two bowlers, Jadeja and Arshdeep Singh also contributed with a wicket apiece.
For the Proteas, spinner Keshav Maharaj also added 20 runs towards the end with Marco Jansen scoring 17 off 15 balls. Aiden Markran, who had shined with a century in the last ODI in Raipur, could not continue his brilliant run as the star batter succumbed for just 1 off balls. Ryan Rickelton failed to unfurl his magic as he departed for a duck.
Meanwhile, the result of this ODI will decide the series winner as India and South Africa have won one match each. The series opener in Ranchi was clinched by the Men in Blue in an emphatic manner while the second match in Raipur was won by South Africa which made the series level at 1-1.
