New Delhi: Prabhsimran Singh played a match-winning inning as he scored 102 runs off just 68 deliveries against Australia A in the third unofficial ODI at the Green Park stadium in Kanpur on Sunday, October 5.

India A were chasing 318 runs, and Prabhsimran gave an aggressive start to his side as he and Abhishek Sharma (22) made an 83-run opening partnership in 11.2 overs before Abhishek fell to Todd Murphy. The wicket-keeper batter was the aggressor in the partnership and completed his century under 20 overs of India's innings.

In his remarkable innings, Prabhsimran smashed seven maximums and eight boundaries and finished his knock with a 150 strike-rate. Skipper Shreyas Iyer also played a commendable innings of 62 runs in 58 balls. He added a steady partnership of 96 runs with Prabhsimran to set up the chase in India's favor.

The previous game's hero, Tilak Varma, fell cheaply as Murphy struck twice in his two consecutive overs by dismissing Abhishek and Tilak. India were cruising to victory as they were 262-4 when Iyer departed, and the team needed only 56 runs, but Australia made a splendid comeback and picked up the next four wickets in just 39 runs.

India were 301 for eight at one point, but Vipraj Nigam held his nerves and finished the game with Arshdeep Singh. Vipraj scored 24 runs off 32 balls.

Earlier, Arshdeep Singh made the most out of the new ball by dismissing both of Australia's openers cheaply. The left-arm pacer finished his spell with three wickets, but he was seen struggling with an injury during the game. Harshit Rana also picked up three wickets in the match.

Shreyas used eight bowling options, where Ayush Badoni, Abhishek Sharma, and Riyan Parag rolled their arms in the first innings. For Australia, Cooper Connolly smashed a quick fifty as he scored 64 runs in 49 balls with five boundaries and four sixes.

Liam Scott and skipper Jack Edwards' half-centuries cruised Australia to cross the 300-run mark and posted a mammoth score of 317 runs.
