YouTube tests return of direct messages in Ireland and Poland

YouTube has begun testing a new direct messaging feature that lets users share videos and chat within the mobile app. The experiment is currently available only to adults in Ireland and Poland.

YouTube says the feature is highly requested and includes safety measures such as message reviews, blocking, and reporting.

New Delhi: YouTube is reviving an old concept with a new strategy by trying to implement direct messages within its mobile application. The site has started implementing an experiment that allows users to upload videos and discuss them directly on the site of YouTube. Its feature is available in Ireland and Poland but currently restricted to 18 and overstrategy by-and-over grown-ups, making the first move towards a broader launch.

The test is a revival of a message feature that used to be available on YouTube but was discontinued in 2019. The company says that the users have been requesting to be able to share their videos and carry out conversations without leaving the app. The new experiment is supposed to make that experience more streamlined -and-overstreamlined,but it would maintain safety controls.

According to YouTube, messages can be checked to ensure safety and compliance, and the video streaming service will take down any flagged content. Although the company does not have a schedule for for when the global rollout will take place, it says that it is keen to get the responses of early testers.
