Insider involvement being probed

According to Bengaluru police, several angles, including insider involvement and security lapses, are being looking into. The initial probe revealed that the robbers were talking over WhatsApp call in Kannada. It is being suspected that the robbers carried out the heist in two groups - one to hijack the cash van and the other to flee with the cash.

The accused used a Toyota Innova car for the robbery. The vehicle is believed to have carried fake number plates. The vehicle was spotted in a CCTV footage travelling from Old Madras Road toward Electronic City.

The police have zeroed in on the possibility of involvement of recently resigned employees, new joinees, suspicious staffers and anyone with a known criminal history.

Bengaluru Police are making all-out efforts to trace the robbery gang and said that cracking the case is now their top priority. Police have deployed multiple specialised teams on the ground and stepped up surveillance across state borders.

Van driver, staff interrogated

According to sources, driver Vinod, custodian Aftab, gunman Rajanna, and staffer Thammayya were interrogated for hours after the robbery to determine whether they were involved in the heist. However, they denied any involvement in the robbery. Police also confiscated their mobile phones to check if they took or deleted any pictures of the vehicle, bank, or the route or shared them with anyone. Their call logs and message histories were also examined for suspicious communication. However, police have not found anything suspicious so far as far as these four are concerned.
