Viral video captures speeding car sending scooter over divider; driver arrested in Bengaluru

New Delhi: Bengaluru police have arrested a man who collided his car with a two-wheeler carrying a family of three. The accused, identified as Sukruth, reportedly rammed the scooter at high speed.

The incident took place near MS Ramaiah Hospital last month when a couple and their child were travelling on a scooter. The viral video shows the scooter jumping over the divider, leaving the family injured. The woman sustained injuries to her hand, head, and shoulder, while the man suffered rib injuries. They were shifted to the hospital by bystanders.

Investigations underway

During the investigation, the police traced Sukruth by scanning the CCTV footage from the spot and later arrested him. He was booked under relevant sections for rash driving, causing injuries and fleeing the scene. Sukruth had allegedly rammed the scooter as he was angered over the two-wheeler's rider honking at him at a previous signal.

In August, an 11-year-old girl was run over by a Karnataka government-run bus in Bengaluru on Friday morning. The incident took place near Maruti Nagar at around 8.20am when Tanvi Krishna, a Class 7 student of Millennium School, was on her way to school with her mother and sister on their two-wheeler.
