Bengaluru Airport asks passengers to arrive well in advance amid heightened security post Delhi bomb blast

The Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru has advised all passengers to plan their journey well in advance and arrive at the airport before time due to enhanced security measures in place. Security has been heightened at key spots across the nation in view of the bomb blast that shook Delhi on Monday evening.

Bengaluru: The Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru has issued an advisory for passengers as security has been heightened across the country in view of the bomb blast that shook national capital Delhi on Monday. The KIA advised the passengers to plan their journey well in advance and arrive at the airport well in advance due to enhanced security measures in place.

The airport shared via its official X handle @BLRAirport,“Passenger advisory from BLR Airport: Passengers are encouraged to arrive early to allow sufficient time for travel formalities. For flight related information please stay in touch with your respective Airline. We thank you for your patience and understanding. #BLRAirport”

The social media post by the airport further said, "Due to enhanced security measures at airports across the country, we request all passengers to plan their travel and arrive at BLR Airport well in advance. This will ensure a smooth journey providing sufficient time to complete security check without delays."

The post added, "For flight related information please stay in touch with your respective airline. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work together to keep your travel safe and seamless."

Delhi bomb blast

At least eight people lost their lives and many others were seriously injured in a blast in a car outside gate number 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi on Monday evening. Around seven fire tenders were rushed to the spot immediately after the blast. A high alert was sounded in Delhi and other parts of the country after the blast.

The blast took place in an Hyundai i20 car outside the Lal Quila metro station. The anti-terror squad and Delhi Police Special Cell and several other security agencies are investigating the matter. The terror links across the country are being probed and several people have been arrested from Delhi NCR and Lucknow in this regard and are being interrogated.
