Adani Energy Solutions subsidiaries get Baa3 rating from Moodys

Moody''s has assigned a Baa3 rating to three Adani Energy Solutions Group subsidiaries: Adani Transmission Step-One Ltd, Adani Transmission Restricted Group 1, and Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd. Despite a negative outlook due to ongoing legal proceedings against Adani Group executives, the rating signifies investment-grade creditworthiness.

New Delhi: Moody's, a financial services consultancy, has given the credit rating of Baa3 to three subsidiary companies of a major Adani group company, viz., Adani Energy Solutions Group. The three entities that have received positive ratings from the business consultancy company are Adani Transmission Step-One Ltd (ATSOL); Adani Transmission Restricted Group 1 (AESL RG1), which includes six transmission project companies; and Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd (AEML).

The rating Baa3 simply means the company is worth investment, thereby giving it an investment-grade credit.

However, it maintained a negative outlook amid current governance issues, which are related to legal proceedings involving senior Adani Group executives, said the rating agency in a statement. The ongoing legal case in the US against the Adani Group senior executives is casting a shadow on the company's future outlook. Despite the legal hurdles, the company reported no operational disruption related to material and faces no problem in access to liquidity and funding.

Adani Energy Solutions Ltd. (AESL) is an energy solutions provider company, and with projects spread across 16 states of India and a transmission network of more than 26000+ km, AESL is India’s largest private transmission and distribution company. The company boasts of more than 12 million customers. Additionally, the company is into smart metering and providing cooling solutions. The company's prospects are positive as it boasts an order book of over 22.8 million smart meters. The market capitlisation of the company stands at more than Rs 1 lakh crore. The shares of the company closed at Rs 870.30 per equity share on Friday, 18th July 2025, as per the data obtained from the BSE.
