According to the exchange, the new index is being created to track and measure the performance of all listed companies that fall under the capital markets industry classification. The new offering aims to provide investors, fund managers, and market participants with a reliable metric and parameter of the sector’s growth and performance.
The index is expected to play a key role in enabling the launch of passive investment products such as Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) and index funds. Additionally, it will serve as a benchmark for portfolio management services (PMS) strategies, mutual fund schemes, and institutional portfolios focused on the capital markets space.
