New Delhi: The central government is expected to focus on increasing the economic strength of women in the Budget 2026-27. The government believes that if women get easy loans, better insurance and banking facilities, they can strengthen not only their families but also the country's economy. With this vision, the government is reportedly working on such schemes. The Jan Dhan accounts can be very useful in achieving this goal as purpose is that every woman gets banking, insurance and credit facilities easily. Also, the process of redressal of insurance claims and complaints should be strengthened. In the budget 2026, new credit cards, loan schemes and special insurance schemes for women can be announced.

The government may bring special financial schemes for women in the budget 2026. These may include easy loans in the name of women, small loans and insurance schemes. It is planned to extend these schemes directly to women through Jan Dhan accounts. This will further strengthen linkages to the banking system and promote financial inclusion.

According to an ET report, it is working on customized credit cards and loan products for women. The government's aim is to make women self-reliant, especially those women who want to start a business for the first time. NITI Aayog is currently evaluating the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana. Its objective is to reactivate those Jan Dhan accounts, which have not been in use for a long time. For this, work is being done on the suggestion of providing more insurance and credit facilities to the account holders. The goal is that 100 percent of the benefits of Jan Dhan Yojana reach the people.

NITI Aayog believes that just opening an account is not enough. People should also have good knowledge of loans, insurance and digital transactions. Therefore, the government is also focusing on enhancing financial literacy and strengthening the digital economy. The budget may also focus on resolving insurance claims and banking complaints. This could also include strengthening regulatory oversight and bringing justice to customers early.
