How to check your PF balance & claim status online: EPFO, Umang App, SMS guide
This article provides a detailed view of how to check your Provident Fund (PF) balance on Umang App, Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) website.
New Delhi: The government savings scheme run by the central government proves to be very beneficial for EPF private employees. The company deposits 12 percent of the employee’s basic salary in the account and deducts 12 percent from the beneficiary’s salary. It is very important for you to know how much money is in the PF account, so that you can withdraw it, if needed.
If you are a subscriber of EPFO, it is quite easy to check your balance or track the status of your application. You can do this in several ways. For example, through the Umang app or SMS, you can get information about your Provident Fund balance. The process of collecting information in all three ways is different.
How to check Provident Fund (PF) on EPFO portal
Visit the official EPFO India website. Go to the Services section at the top left of the blue ribbon. From the drop-down menu, select For Employees. Next step - under the Services section, click on Know Your Claim Status. A new window will open, in which you will have to enter your UAN, password and captcha. Once you submit these details, you can log in to your account. After logging in, you will be able to see your claim status on your dashboard.
PF check on Umang app
- You can also calculate the status of your claim on the Umang app. You can also check the balance.
- First, download the Umang app on your smartphone and log in with your registered mobile number.
- Then search for EPFO and go to Employee Centric Services.
- Go to the Track Claim option from the list.
- Enter your UAN (Universal Account Number) and click on Get OTP.
- Once you enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile number, you can click on Login. Once you do this, you will be able to see all the details.
PF balance on SMS
Members can also check their balance in EPFO and the latest PF contribution by sending a text message to mobile number 77382 99899. The special thing is that it should be sent only from the mobile number registered with the UAN. In the message you have to write EPFOHO UAN and send it to 77382 99899. After a few seconds of sending, you will get the full details of your account. The special thing is that this facility is available not only in English and Hindi, but also in other regional languages like Gujarati, Punjabi, Marathi, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Bengali.
