HPCL shares in focus after net profit surges six times in Q1 FY26

New Delhi: The shares of HPCL (Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd.) will be in focus on Friday, August 8, as the company announced their quarterly results for the April-June quarter on Thursday, August 7. HPCL shares settled at Rs 402.55 apiece on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), gaining around 0.29 percent in a single trading session on Thursday, August 6. As per its stock filing, HPCL reported a sixfold surge in profit in the April-June quarter of the current financial year, FY26.

The company shares have given a negative return of about 9 percent in the last one month whereas the shares of the company have given a minimal return of about 1.5 percent in the last one year. The 52-week high of the stock is Rs 457.20 apiece. whereas the 52-week low of the stock is Rs 287.55. The price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of the stock is 12.72. The market capitalisation (M-Cap) of the company is Rs 85630 crore as of August 7.
HPCL Q1 FY26 Results
As per HPCL's stock filing, the company minted a consolidated net profit of around Rs 4111 crore for the April-June quarter of the current fiscal year FY26, recording a phenomenal surge of six times in net profit. The company had amassed a profit of Rs. 633 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year, FY25. The massive surge in profit is attributed to the inventory gains.
The first-quarter profit of the company is equivalent to more than half of the total net profit of Rs 6736 crore the company made in the previous fiscal year, FY25.
For Q1 FY26, the operational revenue of the company for the April-June quarter is almost the same at Rs 1.20 lakh crore as compared to the revenue of Rs 1.21 lakh the company amassed in the same April-June quarter of FY25.
