LIC unveils Bima Sakhi Yojana: How to earn Rs 7000 per month stipend

LIC's Bima Sakhi Yojana empowers women through insurance agent training and financial incentives. The scheme provides a monthly stipend of Rs 7000 for the first year and Rs 6000 for the second, performance-based thereafter, for three years. Eligibility requires being 18-70 years old with a 10th-standard education. The initiative aims to increase insurance awareness and financial independence for women across India.

New Delhi: In a significant move to promote financial independence and socio-economic empowerment among women, the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) has come up with the new policy named Bima Sakhi Yojana. The initiative is set to empower women by providing them a sustained supply of income and training them as insurance agents while simultaneously increasing the insurance awareness and penetration across the country.

LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana is a dedicated women's empowerment scheme launched by LIC. Under the initiative, women are set to get recruited and trained as LIC agents. The women insurance agents are set to be called "Bima Sakhis," which will further promote insurance awareness within their communities. The agents are set to receive special training, marketing support, and financial incentives to succeed in their roles.

Bima Sakhi Remuneration:

The scheme offers a monthly stipend for the three years based on performance. For the first year, a monthly stipend of Rs 7000 is fixed as remuneration. From the second year onwards, a monthly stipend of Rs 6000 is to be provided under the condition that 65 percent of the policies issued in the first year remain intact. The stipend from the third year onwards will be performance-linked and subject to LIC's evaluation. Importantly, no stipend will be paid if the required policy in-force percentage is not maintained.

Bima Sakhi Eligibility Criteria

The minimum age for becoming an LIC Bima Sakhi is fixed as 18, and the maximum age is 70 years as of the date of application.

The minimum educational qualification needed for the role is matriculation (passing 10th standard). Relatives of existing LIC agents or employees are not eligible. Retired LIC employees, former agents, and existing agents are also barred from applying under this scheme.

The LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana is an initiative aimed at empowering women to become financially independent while making a tangible difference in their communities. With a structured support system, performance-based incentives, and a clear mission to bridge the insurance gap in India, the scheme holds promise for thousands of women seeking both income and impact.
